Help Earthquake Survivors

HELP & HOPE FOR HAITI

Survivors of the earthquake in Haiti are still in desperate need of your help. On January 12th, a deadly earthquake centered just 10 miles from Port-au-Prince devastated Haiti. And just one week later, on January 20th, the most powerful aftershock in a series of more than 40 significant aftershocks struck, and once again Haitians fled out-of-doors in panic. It is not clear yet what additional damage or injuries have resulted from this latest shock. Because the people of Haiti have been suffering extreme poverty, chronic hunger, disease, and environmental injustice for many generations, this disaster is especially catastrophic. HELP CHILEAN EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

A powerful magnitude-8.8 earthquake ripped through Chile very early morning on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Officials believe that over 300 people were killed and over 1.5 million directly affected by the earthquake. Many homes and roads are destroyed--electricity, water, and phone lines leading to outlying areas severed--bridges have collapsed, several hospitals are damaged and have been evacuated. An official "state of catastrophe" is declared in central Chile and strong aftershocks continue along Chile's coast. You can help. For more details, click here.
