Gram's Apple Kuggella - the Quick, No Measure Way
A simple snack/dessert that smells great cooking. Gram actually has a recipe with measurments, but it's quick and easy to do without! Vary the sweetner by taste, or use artifical sweetner for those who are avoiding sugars.
PREPATION TIME: 10 minutes / COOK TIME: 30-45 minutes
STEP 1: PREHEAT OVEN: 375 degrees
STEP 2: In a mixing bowl, put Low-fat Bisquick®: at least 3 cups
STEP 3: ADD: 2-3 Tablespoons of Cinnanmon and any dry sweetners (sugar or the stuff in the pink or blue packet). Mix together.
STEP 4: ADD: Sufficient low-fat milk, or juice from fruit, or canned fruit in low-sugar or no-sugar juice - or a combination of all - so that the Bisquick is firm but not dry. ADD: Couple drops of Vanilla
STEP 5: MIX TOGETHER: Bag of apples peeled (at least 12 apples) and Can of peaches or pears
STEP 6: Put the Bisquick mixture in a flat baking pan
(Size of the pan depends on how liberal you were with the first instruction on how much Bisquick you used. Important thing is to have the batter wind up deep enough to hold the fruit once the batter is spread evenly on the bottom of the pan.)
STEP 7: Take the fruit and spread it all over the pan, and musch into the batter. (Gram lines up each piece of fruit in rows. This is defintely neater, but takes a whole lot of time and patience - musching is fun! Just don't "mix" the fruit in - dump it on top and then puch it into the batter.
STEP 8: Bake it for at least 30 minutes and take a look. Depending on the size and depth of the pan you may need to bake longer. Test it by putting toothpick in middle of dough (not a piece of fruit!) and see if comes out clean. Clean toothpick means it time to make the fresh coffee and get your plate!

Shirley's Cool Whip Pie
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Package Jello
- 1 Graham Cracker Pie Crust
- 1 Small container Cool Whip
- Fruit of your choice
- Water
PREPATION TIME: 10 minutes
STEP 1: Dissolve Jello with 2/3 CUP of boiling water. Stir well. Set aside.
STEP 2: Set timer for 5-6 minutes and let mixture cool.
STEP 3: Then take 2 CUPS of ice cubes and stir into mixture until it thickens.
STEP 4: Remove the "left over" ice cubes and stir in the container of Cool Whip
STEP 5: Add fruit and pour into the Pie Crust.
LOW-SUGAR OPTION: Use no-sugar, artificially sweetened Jello
Shirley says, "This dish is best when it is refrigerated for at least 6 to 8 hours. I've used lime jello with blueberries or a large can of drained, crushed pineapple. I've also used strawberry Jello with fresh cut up strawberries. JT's favorite is orange Jello with 2 small cans of well-drained mandarin oranges. It's great dessert. Have fun!"
