North East Digital VillageThe Health FairAbout the Health Fair at NEDVThe Internet and the world wide web are incredible resources for health care providers, hospitals and other institutions as well as patients and their families. The information provided here by the North East Digital Village is in no way exhaustive. It is meant to give you a window into the type and breadth of services and information available. While we cannot and do not guarantee the accuracy of nor recommend any specific medical providers or techniques, we have done our best to provide an array of options from a full range of medical resources. MEDLINEplus®: MEDLINEplus will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MEDLINEplus® brings together, by health topic, authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other government, non-profit and other health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MEDLINEplus and give easy access to the medical research literature. It also provides you with a database of full-text drug information and an illustrated medical encyclopedia. Interactive Health Tutorials: Made available by MEDLINEplus®, the tutorials are interactive health education resources from the Patient Education Institute. Using animated graphics each tutorial explains a procedure or condition in easy-to-read language. You can also listen to the tutorial. These tutorials require a special Flash plug-in, version 4 or above. If you do not have Flash, you will be prompted to obtain a free download of the software before you start the tutorial.
