2005-2006 Seasons: Taurasi became the fifth player in Phoenix Mercury history to score over 1,000 career points. Second player in franchise history to score over 1,000 career points in her first two seasons. Averaged a team-high 16.0 ppg (.410 FG%, .313 3pt%, .801 FT%), 4.2 rpg, 4.5 apg, 1.15 spg, 0.85 bpg, and 33.0 mpg through 33 games (33 started). Scored in double figures in 28 of 33 games.
Taurasi was selected to represent the West for the 2005 All-Star game on July 9, 2005 becoming the fifth Mercury player to be selected to the All-Star game. Named to the All-WNBA Second Team in 2005. Scored a career-high 31 points in the season finale against Seattle, the 21st 20+ point game of her career, passing Brandy Reed (18, 20+ point games) in Mercury franchise history for most game of 20 or more points. Taurasi scored over 1000 points in Mercury Uniform.
Season-Highs: Points - 1 (8/27 at Seattle); Rebounds - 9 (8/5 vs. Houston); Assists – 8 (four times).
